The Hot Debate Topic: Is There A Line?

Put Zimbabwe (small X, small Y) and the US (large X, large, but not as large as Iceland, Y) and connect the dots.
There are a compendium of factors that determine happiness. I'd speculate that monoculturalism is not highly correlated with happiness. We know that health, wealth, and access to basic education are correlated.

I don't know where Mr. Taylor gets his data on Zimbabwean level of happiness. I would bet they are much happier than he imagines. And what does he base diversity on? Social status? Race? Income? Education? Or what?

Bob,
I presume diversity is a reference to race and/or ethnicity. I think it's pretty safe to say Zimbabweans aren't very happy, given that inflation is estimated somewhere above 1.2 million percent and natives are leaving the country in droves to avoid paying $2m+ Zimbabwe dollars for a loaf of bread, when it's even available.

The answer to the question is Yes, you have made a line, but it has no significance. Where is England? the US? Check out the link for unhappy and mostly mono-identified countries

Technically Israel would also be toward the left having only two identities. so you would have to put a dot in the bottom left hand corner for Israel or Lebannon, or Syria.
Bob,
Just to make sure you are on the same page as everyone, Zimbabwe President Mugabe is currently imprisoning oppositiion leaders and sending current and retired military men out into the country to beat up people to make sure they know there will be consequences if he doesn't win the run off election.
Mugabe is probably the only happy person in Zimbabwe right now.
