Barack Obama Inauguration Speech Bingo and Drinking Game

What are the rules? Wait, let me guess: get plastered before the speech starts, and whoever is sober enough to pay attention to score a bingo wins!

C'mon, "Global Warming" is so 1990's. In the 21st century it's the "Climate Crisis". That way it explains cold and hot weather, floods and droughts, and it's a crisis (everything is a crisis to these people).
Otherwise perfect, Tom!

You forgot Lincoln!
Posted by: Chris from Racine | Jan 19, 2009 10:14:32 AM
I've got an early (hic) start on (hic) that (hic), Sparticus.
Seriously, very beautifully-done, Tom.

I'm guessing that, as always, the middle space is the "give-away".
I'm also guessing that "Wall Street/Main Street" would be a good fit up there somewhere.

Let me also propose Campaign Promise Bingo:
The card is entirely full of free spaces.
Everybody wins...

You missed hemhorroids.
As Carl, over at No Oil For Pacifists has intoned.
"Global Warming: Is there *anything* it can't do?"
Well, other than make an honest man out of a politician.

Is this a coverall game?
Posted by: John Holton | Jan 19, 2009 8:47:34 PM
sergio: I am deeply offended that you you have so maliciously misrepresented the issues at hand.
It's "Climate *Change*", not "Climate Crisis". OK?
Of course, some of the squares could apply to anyone becoming president, so we're at least going to have some of the squares filled before we start. *crosses of "Hard Working Americans" and "Founding Fathers"*
Posted by: ZanderSchubert | Jan 20, 2009 3:33:09 AM
Zander:
Mr. Gore himself refers to it as the "Climate Crisis". That's as authentic as it gets as far as I'm concerned. Check his web site, algore.com.

Let's see... the left-to-right diagonal *would* be a Bingo if he had only mentioned Kenya....

I'm a longtime reader of 4-blockworld -- I was pleasantly surprised to see this post all over the web today! Your traffic must be through the roof! Congrats!
Posted by: Scott | Jan 20, 2009 3:13:09 PM
sergio: OK, fine, I was just being incredulous.
...we didn't get a bingo, did we? I thought we might have gotten the second column. He was *this close* to mentioning Kenya too. Oh, well. We can always wait another four years!
...what?
Posted by: ZanderSchubert | Jan 20, 2009 10:33:02 PM
I will take Al Gore's word on "Global Crisis" about the same time he cleans up his strip mining ecological disaster at his land in Tennessee.

Ron Paul!

Watching political speeches on TV can be tedious. Playing a game like this certainly helps people, and especially students (minus the drinking) pay attention. I think I will use this technique to get my students to pay attention to recorded speeches in a poly-sci class.
