Advice For The New CEO

More truth than many realize. One time I took a job as the VP-Finance for a company and the President wanted me to centralize all the accounting functions into the "home office," but I quickly realized that the accountants at the remote branches had a lot better handle on the accounting than we could and any cost savings in personnel would be lost by taking the time of branch managers to help out--not to mention hiring new home office staff, training, and travel. But, the President is always right, even when he hires an expert to tell him maybe he's not.
