Non-Consecutive Democrats

I generally enjoy your blocks, but this one goes too far.

I'm so far from being an Obama supporter, but it is not cool to pull out the racism like this.

Posted by: Ben | Nov 4, 2008 11:38:30 PM

Sorry, Tom - I don't get it, and I don't like the looks of it. Have you been drinking and drawing?

Posted by: John Foust | Nov 5, 2008 5:53:58 AM

Restoration of Character & Honor?

Laughable. For whatever useful insights you normally have, you've lost touch with reality and become irrelevant now.

Posted by: thomasblair | Nov 5, 2008 7:09:12 AM

With GWB you could turn on the news and not hear about cigars and stains on blue dresses and the like. I knew the Bush haters would have a hissy fit about that.

And my prediction was right: Every criticism of BHO will be answered with mindless cries of "racism"!

Posted by: Tom McMahon | Nov 5, 2008 7:20:35 AM

Wow. I always figured that you were a racist but I didn't think you would ever wear your hood in public. You really should be ashamed of this cartoon.

Posted by: steve | Nov 5, 2008 7:22:19 AM

You know, sometimes I hate being so accurate with my predictions . . .

Posted by: Tom McMahon | Nov 5, 2008 7:47:49 AM

Ummm Tom, shouldn't the 4-Block be labeled "Consecutive Democrats"?

George Bush has reigned over the largest increase in Federal Spending in the history of this country. He fought for, and got passed, one of the largest entitlement programs in the history of this country (Medicare Part D). He has also reigned over a time when we have had partial nationalization of our banking and financial industries.

George W. Bush is a Demcrat, and I don't consider any of the things I mentioned to be full of character or honor.

Posted by: Nick | Nov 5, 2008 8:11:51 AM

Oh, now I get it. Or do I? You're making fun of the way that conservatives will denigrate Obama by calling his yet-unborn policies "ghetto thuggery" in the same way they called Clinton (or his girlfriends) "trailer trash". You're secretly not racist but you wanted to provoke thought and discussion, not only for intellectual purposes, but to boost your comment count average above 1.0?

You're almost on target: After only a few hours, on B&S the Texas Hold 'Em Blogger was already complaining that he wished he had enough money to put a price on Obama's melon. Wow, double points for the watermelon and assassination references! He'll get around to the ghetto references in the next few days, I'm sure.

In the info science world, we often say that "information is something you don't know or something with a low probability of occurrence." Can you put your predictive skills to work on something we don't know or something we don't expect?

Nick, shush, people don't like it when you point out their hypocrisy. Libertarians need to polish their people skills.

Posted by: John Foust | Nov 5, 2008 8:54:05 AM

"Every criticism of BHO will be answered with mindless cries of "racism"!"

Nonsense. Some of them surely will, but those are the bigots who wouldn't like to see even a Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, or a Thomas Sowell as president. No, no, there are far more upright ways to criticize Obama than his race. Like his policies.

"Every criticism of BHO will be answered with mindless cries of "racism"!"

You brought in ghetto just because someone was black and you are suprised at calls of racism?

Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction and now we have 30,000 US casualties and you are worried about Clinton's affair?

Posted by: John Jacob | Nov 5, 2008 10:32:36 AM

Your prediction is that if you say something racist, people will call you a racist? You're a regular Nostradamus there aren't you?

Posted by: Steve | Nov 5, 2008 3:34:53 PM

Steve, you're digging your hole deeper. I'd quit now.

And John Jacob (Jingleheimer Schmidt?), whadya gonna do when you don't have Bush to kick around? Face reality, maybe? Hmmmm?

Posted by: Tom McMahon | Nov 5, 2008 4:38:42 PM

And Nick, I understand what you're saying, I just don't know how to put that all into one cartoon and make it interesting.

And John, I just wish Barack Obama would quit giving his opponents the finger. Lack of Class. Even Clinton never did that.

Posted by: Tom McMahon | Nov 5, 2008 4:42:52 PM

Ghetto thuggery is spot on.
If you don't agree, you get silenced. That's pretty much the definition of it. Chicago politics at the national level.

Posted by: sick and tired of the real racists | Nov 5, 2008 5:11:38 PM

John Jacob, you said "Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction."

For you, and all the ones who say Bush lied.

1. Bush had the same information as Clinton, who said Saddam had WMD.

2. To be a lie, one must KNOWINGLY tell an untruth. Bush relied on the information given him. Thus, he did not lie.

Your comment shows you are either woefully ignorant of the definition of "lied" or a despicable liar.

John Foust said 'Oh, now I get it. Or do I? You're making fun of the way that conservatives will denigrate Obama by calling his yet-unborn policies "ghetto thuggery" in the same way they called Clinton (or his girlfriends) "trailer trash"'

It was the democrats that called Paula Jones, who was not appreciative of Clinton's actions, "trailer trash." It was not conservatives. The Carville democrats were trying, unsuccessfully, to make Clinton look innocent. Conservatives may have called Clinton "trailer trash" but that was appropriate, because one is judged by his actions.

You are sad.

3. And GWB did acknowledge and apologize for his mistake; unlike everyone else!

Posted by: Frederick Davies | Nov 6, 2008 2:20:52 AM

This blog is a joke. Tom, is Rush your Hero?

Are you really that much of a pompus ass or just stupid?

dubya and the word honor shouldn't be in the same sentance. Was your head stuck up your ass for the last 8 years?

I suggest everyone to stop reading this blog.

To whoever immediately thought of "race" when viewing the chart....

the only race mentioned is that which you wrote....that's been the whole problem with the liberal side, they keep invoking race when it's about issues. This election will go down in history as marked by:

- voter registration fraud
- ballot box stuffing fraud
- attacks on radio stations with opposing views
- statements like "oh, did I mention he's black," from the candidate himself
- attacks on good Americans like "Joe the Plumber" and Governor Palin's family
- After election tactics to steal/manipulate votes cast to grab additional congressional seats

Classic thuggery!!

> You brought in ghetto just because someone was black and you are suprised at calls of racism?

Yeah, 'cause there are so many white peeps livin' in the hood?

Geez. The only "non-racist" reference to blacks is that of fawning adoration.

Voting for Obama solely because he's black? "Not Racist".

Voting against Obama because of anything else? "Blatantly Racist".

Goodbye, Amerikkka...

Welcome, one and all, to The ObamaNation.

> And John Jacob (Jingleheimer Schmidt?), whadya gonna do when you don't have Bush to kick around? Face reality, maybe? Hmmmm?

Don't be silly. Thanks to the media, you can rest assured that Bush will be the cause of all things that go worng in the first four years.

No, it doesn't matter that the recession Bush inherited from Clinton was Bush's fault. Obama's inherited problems will not be Obama's.

Terrorist attacks on US soil? Reflexive results from the eeeevil Imperial days.

Multiyear recession, with double-digit unemployment? End result of Bush policies.

Collapse of Iraqi government, with subsequent Darfur-like genocides? See first entry above.

Iran nuking Tel Aviv, with subsequent massive nuclear retaliation by Israel? Don't ask me, but it'll be all Bush's fault.

Bush'll be at fault until the next GOP admin.

Uh, yeah. Go stick your head back in the orifice associated with Cranio-Rectal Insertion Syndrome, and stick to reading the DK, DU, and Huffpo. The rest of us will stay here, ok?

In retrospect I should have labelled the last block "Chicago Thuggery" instead of "Ghetto Thuggery". Obama's thuggery is more of the classic Daley Chicago Machine variety.
