Necessary Conditions for Invoking The Infield Fly Rule

The late Skip Caray would have appreciated this.

That's what I thought, John. Skip Caray could have had this chart printed on the back of his business card and handed them out to people. Maybe someone could attach a copy of this to his memorial. Regarding something else that upset Skip, do you think that they did the wave at his funeral?

(If others don't know, Skip was famous for blowing a fuse whenever someone called the pre-game radio show and asked him to explain the infield fly rule, and someone did it every show just to get his goat.)

This drawing plus the explanation at wiki.com is all I need. Thanks.

I think a fan from Acworth started the Wave in Skip's honor, Woody.

(Again, for those from out of town, when a ball was hit into the stands, Skip would say "A fan from (random city in Georgia, and sometimes the neighboring states) caught that one.")

This is exactly what I needed. The other day at my softball game they called one of my teammates out for the infield fly rule and we didn't know what it was. But this explains it all.
Thanks for your help!
