for my $.02, Vick seemed genuinely repentant for doing something pretty heinous. Plaxico was compromising the immediate safety of people around him who prefer not to get shot when going to night clubs.

Vick was easily accepted back into the NFL upon release, and Plaxico looks like it will be the same way.

No, this does not make any sense to me.

Ya think Plaxico Burress should have received more time?

No sense to me. Dog fighting is much worse, and much less humorous than shooting yourself in the leg. I almost felt that Plaxico had been punished enough already.

Burress may have been foolish, but the real villain is Mayor Bloomberg who refuses to let people protect themselves against thieves/thugs, but surrounds himself with armed bodyguards.

Shall issue CCW states allow private citizens to protect themselves, whereas in NYC, only the powerful are allowed protection, either by having it provided by the government, or by some political favoritism.

This is no suprise, but the liberal states are ignoring the Heller decision. The SCOTUS ruled that the 2nd Amendment means you have the right to own a firearm for personal protection.

I had some ignoramus tell me that the Heller decision only applied to the District of Columbia, not to any of the states. What an idiot!

If a citizen of the U.S. has a right, then ALL citizens have that right. Rights are NOT doled out by the government according to their wishes and whims. We are all born with rights and the Bill of Rights tells the government to keep their hands off.

As for Burress, if he wanted to get a concealed-carry permit, his celebrity would have done the trick.

Is the punishment fair? Well, when CA Rep (R) Randy Cunningham pled guilty to corruption charges, he was given 7 years. When a child molestor was found guilty, he was given 3 years. THAT is not fair!

Sometimes I think the blindfold should be removed from the statue of Justice and be replaced by lobotomy scars.

> the real villain is Mayor Bloomberg who refuses to let people protect themselves against thieves/thugs, but surrounds himself with armed bodyguards.

This is true of most libtard anti-gun people.

Rosie O'Donnell is so imbecilically anti-gun that she actually wanted the players from "Annie, Get Your Gun" to not mention guns on her show...

But check out most pictures of her with her body guards. Guess who's packin' heat?

"Rules for thee, but not for me."

> If a citizen of the U.S. has a right, then ALL citizens have that right.

Unless otherwise Constitutionally excluded. For example, anyone who lives in DC actually has no representatives in Congress. Something all other citizens have is explicitly prevented by the Constitution. They've been pushing to change this for decades.

But yeah, I otherwise concur with most of what you mention.

> Sometimes I think the blindfold should be removed from the statue of Justice and be replaced by lobotomy scars.

I long ago noticed that most people would not know Justice if she came up behind them and whacked them upside the head, full swing, with her scales...

of course bloomberg is a hypocrite- he is a jew like schumer, they want Americans disallowed guns of any kind, but jews in israel(NOT palestinians, mind you) can own any type of assault rifle they want- paid for by either US tax dollars, or US tax deductible donations from US holy rollers who believe God wants them to send money to jews in israel. America is not doomed, it is already dead. We are a nation no more.
