I can remember listening to Gunsmoke on the radio on Sunday car trips in the late 1950s, but that is all and I was born in 53.

Parley Baer is probably best known as Mayor Roy Stoner of Mayberry. He was the voice of the Keebler Elf, too.

No, I don't remember OTR. But we listen to the show every weekend on Sirius. IMHO, Sirius is worth it just for that.

I can definitely see how "Cannon" wouldn't make it as Dillon, though he might've still looked ok in the 50s... I don't recall seeing any pix of him from that era.
